Recommended desktop DAC and amp (or whether I need them at all)

Yeah still here, getting a laugh out of your responses.

I've played around with the Foobar2000 output settings and noticed what I think is a slight change improvement the audio quality, although that may just be placebo effect. I also noticed some static from events such as scrolling in a web page so I'm going to take the onboard audio out of the equation and go with a DAC. I've got an Fiio E10K on order, so we'll see how well it cleans everything up.

You might find it improves matters but don't expect wonders. We'll see :)
