In other news, today I picked up a 3.5 straight to a 3.5 straight from RadioShack... And when I plugged them in something I did not expect happened... When I plugged them all the way in only sound came from the left side, pull it out one notch sound from both sides, one more notch and sound from only the right side... what just happened here???

I'm starting to get paranoid that my phones are damaged

Are you sure the plug is stereo? That sounds like a mono plug issue......though if it's a stereo plug that you're using and not getting sound in both channels....then the Goldrings must use some proprietary interface: some special stereo plug that's measured differently then regular stereo

You're right, it is a mono plug *slaps head*
