Basically i need some decent closed headphones for use wholly on a computer's crappy headphone out. im using the hd570s right now, which are kinda broken, and these suck.

So something pretty cheap would be good. the 280s are too pricey for my budget right now but something like them would be good. Thanks

Senn HD 201 - Very cheap, decent sound, circumaural
AKG K81DJ - More expensive, good sound, good isolation, supraural

not heard HD201 yet. But I owned / Sony XD100 / Sony XD300 / Gainward SoundXplosion 5.1 / Philips HP250 and it was best and my favorite among the bunch.

The HP250 has a more warmer and upfront midrange, as well as much better bass impact, but the highs and soundstage are weaker than the HD201. They looked closed, but the HP250 is semi-open. There's not much leakage, but they let in a lot of sound. The HD201 has decent isolation.

201 has fairly decent isolation - not as great as the 280, but better than many other closed cans. It also has a surprisingly refined sound signature, considering the price.

I just noticed you had a "crappy headphone out"... I suggest picking up a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro - it's an excellent budget upgrade for computer audio. For $30, you get a very decent soundcard and headphone amp that has really good synergy with the HD201 (just check out this thread on the pairing.)

I just ordered a pair of K81DJs to knock around with at work out of my iHP-140 and AE-1 combination. Should look a little less noticeable than my A900LTDs at work.

We will see how they sound when I get them off of the ebay seller for 55$ shipped.
