Same here! I just got mine and I am very happy with them (they are my first pair of decent headphones). I enjoy them especially when watching movies.

But I keep thinking: how would this sound on the 595s?

The bass out of DT770 goes deeper (not necessarily better) than the A700. However as it was mentioned earlier the DT770 do require an amp to sound at it's best or they will sound a bit underpowered. A700 has a bass that is tighter than the DT770 but doesn't go as deep. Soundstage between the both cans are close and exibits good amounts of detail.

Go for the 700's. You won't regret it.

Those Beyerdynamics DT770/80 are pretty good for gaming and music.

Sorry, I thought they looked quite nice too but they're over budget

Whatever you do, don't buy yourself some nice headphones and then plug them into an onboard sound card

Unfortunately, Im gonna plug them into my Realtek HD onboard. Though some people say it's better than SB Live. Take note it's their HD chips, not the normal ones.
