I don't know if its been mentions already but Pete Rock's PeteStrumentals is an insane release. Its almost all instrumentals but CL Smooth gets on at least one track and Pete and CL are a crazy match up. Which reminds me that the album Mecca and the Soul Brother by Pete Rock and CL Sooth is pretty awesome as well. Lastly I know you say you don't like Eminem but I didn't either until I checked out Infinite its from '96 and his flows are insane, this was back in the day, he still sounds super young.

Lol, I don't know how that could be true. His fan base is ridiculously small.

Jay-Z > DOOM
Besides, I don't think rating and popularity exist in a direct relation.  I.E. Justin Beiber may be more popular than he should but I don't think anyone is gonna call him over-rated because no one's opinion who matters thinks he's that great in the first place.

Sorry man, but I don't see how providing links to his music and one review from meta critic show he's over rated. And his fan base is still small, lol. Especially when compared with other hip hop artists. I could go around my campus all day tomorrow asking every single student if they've heard of MF DOOM, and I would guess only about 30 to 35% would say yes. I would say somebody like Lil Wayne is overrated, especially when such claims as him being the best rapper alive are made. MF DOOM has always had an old school flow, and that's just not what the hip hop industry is into these days. People want filthy lyrics and thumping beats, Doom just doesn't provide that. I know I've mentioned this before, but he has arguably more recorded material than any other emcee. Of course, this doesn't make him good. It just means he has a ton of stuff out there. Lol, also most people hate Doom because he rarely shows up to his shows. He sends doombots rather frequently. His whole persona is just unlike any other. Few people have seen his real face live. There are a few pictures, but often times his face is obscured. Everything he does is just villainous.

Am I the only one who doesnt like Murs? Im just not feeling his stuff. My friend met him last year and Murs told him he doesnt tour with Living Legends anymore because they do too many drugs.

Come on, that's just wrong. Hat's off to the businessman in him but as a rapper he's mediocre at best. Doom is not one of my favorites either, but as far as credibility and originality goes he's lightyears ahead of Jay. I've never understood why people rate Jay Z so high, he's just not that talented, and his flow is everything but captivating.

Plus, Jay-Z has changed his flow more than any other rapper I've ever seen. It started with Nas, and my guess is it will never change. Jay-Z is is quite the tool right about now.

How much respect is it even possible to have after listening to ether anyways? lol Nas DESTROYED him...and I know what your talking about saying jay switched his style up. he used to rap reallr, really fast to the point that you couldnt even understand him but then he molded into his slower style.
