I'm buying a Corda HA-1 as a hold-me-over until I can afford a better amp like the Prehead. Later it will be part of a portable setup. I am using HD600s with the Cardas replacement cable. I'm really peeved that the HA-1 has only 1/8" jacks, and naturally I want to find an adapter that will allow for the least possible loss of sound quality and information. I would just buy one from Cardas, but I can't seem to find anywhere online to buy them from...

So riddle me this, if you please: Is the little adapter that comes with the stock HD600 cable any good?

Are you looking for RCA to mini, as in your title, or 1/4" to 1/8" as in your description? The adapter that comes with the stock HD-600 cable is 1/8" to 1/4" and will be useless in connecting the Cardas to the HA-1. Radio Shack has an adapter that's not bad. IMO the best is the Grado, as it has a short cable between the 1/4" jack and 1/8" plug, which greatly reduces strain on the plug.

Sorry; I can't see how I messed up, but I'm talking about an adapter that changed a standard RCA 1/4" termination into a mini 1/8". Am I associating the names with the correct measurements?

RCA jacks and plugs do not come in different sizes. They are also knows as "phono" jacks and used as output jacks exclusively, never headphone jacks.

What you want is an adapter to convert a 1/4" stereo (3 conductor) phone plug to a 1/8" stereo phone plug. You can get this at Radio Shack. You can buy a better one from a Grado dealer. This will let you plug your Cardas cable into a Corda HA-1.
