that's disappointing to hear. It's why I wasn't able to finished Odyssey. I literally couldn't figure out where I should go next in regards to main the story. I was getting bored of side quest after side quest but really wasn't moving forward. I couldn't figure out if I should upgrade weapons or wait till better weapons came alone.

I have the same weapon issue with Vahlaha. I'm not sure about the main story issue; I got distracted with other games that are significantly more linear.

I didn't really like having to grind to get powerful enough to move forward. I'm do not play many RPGs and I really don't like grinding to be able to progress through a story. I don't mind a little bit.

I'll most likely play (some of) it when it's available on Game Pass Ultimate

I'm probably going to get to it, but been playing MH Wilds lately trying to get better hunt times for AT Rey Dau that got released. I'm certainly not a speed runner so I've been optimizing my switch axe build. Seems like Gore 4 piece, agitator, Counterstrike seems to be popular builds at the moment. With Zoh Shia switch axe which is comparable to Artian.

Been doing a lot of Zoh Shia, tempered Arkveiled, Tempered Gore hunts. I think those are the top hunts to do during end game along with AT Rey Dau. I think I got all out of it unit the next TU. I've been spending a lot of time on MH World as well since I started to main Switch Axe now.

I think Arkveld hunt theme is pretty good. It sounds much better when you are on the hunt and you are riding your Sekreit toward the moster with 3 other hunters. It works. When you are on the hunt this sounds good.

Been on MH binge guys. After getting to post MH World Iceborne, I switched over to MH Rise. I like Rise a lot better this 2nd playthrough. I can see that Rise has the most character of the 3 most recent MH games. I think the designs are great, the characters, and the settings. I'm really enjoying switch axe weapon, it's really fun. I think what works well in Rise is that it doesn't take itself too seriously like World, which makes it not boring IMO.

I played death stranding a few years ago for about 4 hours then lost interest. Almost forgot everything at the start. Booted it up last night after a dry herb sesh and wow, the game is freaking spectacular!! Then when the music starts whilst walking along the country. And my eyes just widened. Plus it runs so damn well, how does he optimise his games so well?!

Great looking game that is mixed in how it's received. You either like it a lot or dislike it. It does look good, and was pretty advanced graphically for when it was released, but Sony in general was a head of the game for a long time when it comes to graphics technology in how efficiently they would apply it.

Just today I was looking for reasons to attempt it again, thinking I can just get past the walking simulator part. I was looking at youtube vids on it, and on paper, the story is very interesting. However, Kojima's gameplay designs didn't stand the test of time I feel. I can't even play the older Metal Gear Solid anymore since I don't think the gameplay is that good in view of today's standards. Although, gameplay is not as bad as Skyrim or Oblivion, it's akin to that for me. You can see how it's dated.

In contemplating whether I should try it again, in the end I realize it's about delivering things, and I can't think of any reason why I would play that for a video game. Kojima fan boys probably just see him as a god that can't make bad content? Well, I think his ideas age IMO.

Recently finished Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, and boy was it a journey. This game was on my radar since it launched. I could not play it at the time of launch because I didn't have a good pc. I watched Vaati Bidya play through AC 1 through 5 and saw his glimpse video for AC6, nothing more. So, you can say I went in blind apart from knowing that this game is Mecha, and I love mecha crap! But boy, were the story and characters a tearjerker, including the OSTS. I never knew I could fall in love with a video game to the point where I would even see it in my dreams (wild crap). When I first started I only thought of beating the crap outta corpos and bosses acting like a merc; my only goal was to kill. But when I began to focus on the story and the moment I found a special character in the game, Ayre, I fell even harder for the game and its world-building. I never knew I could be so attached to faceless characters and how badly they would affect me. I went in as a criminal and ended up having to make decisions that would either save the world or destroy it. I will not spoil much, but know this is the first FromSoftware game that captivated me with its story and gameplay mechanics. I played through their Dark Souls series and loved them as well, but this is one game I hold near and dear to my heart. I don't know if AC7 will topple this feeling, but no matter what, I will always be C4-621 and will always come back to this game when I am at my lowest. This game is the best thing I have ever witnessed, and I thank FromSoftware for such a gift. I thank my parents for helping me purchase this pc to experience Armored Core 6 with my hands, ears and eyes.
I uninstalled Elden Ring for this game, so you better trust me that this is a good game, regardless of it being a Mecha game.
Till next time.

Playing Clair Obscur: Expidition 33. Shocked a studio of 30 people developed this. I was expecting it to be just turn-based with parry, but there is so much depth to build mechanics, it's crazy. Also each character has unique mechanics of their own, and the way synergy works between character is mind-blowing. This game's support mechanics is actually very well done, and done in way, they should be used. Probably the most in depth build mechanics turn-based rpg I've ever played. There's a good learning curve to figure out how to do optimal builds. I highly recommend.

This is the evolved turn-based rpg, and I don't know if square could top this. They put so much into this. Turn-based will never be the same ever again.

Been playing Rise of the Ronin a LOT lately. I swing between being utterly obsessed with it and being completely pissed off by it.

It's really scratching the itch I expected AC Shadows to, and not even just because it's a samurai game. It's pieced out much better, making it far less tedious to complete each area. Each area can be completed in as little as 10 minutes, assuming they have no main story quest there, so these bite sized completion goals can be knocked out in quick succession. It's really satisfying if you're just trying to kill some time and get some loot.

The combat can be somewhat brutal, even on easy mode, but I never feel like it's wholly unfair. Some of the enemies have really irritating attack patterns that make no sense, and I feel overall the combat relies a little too much on the parry system, but there's a lot here to master, and it's extremely gratifying to beat a tough boss. Stealth and platforming feel a little tacked on, but they're entirely serviceable and fun enough to justify their inclusion.

I will say that despite the graphics being, on a technical level, far inferior to AC Shadows, I find the game to be more visually appealing. For starters the characters are more eye catching, but environments feel more natural, and the combination of western and eastern buildings and clothing is really neat to see. The game also doesn't seem to have the same hatred and vitriol of the west that Shadows does.

Something that's interesting to me is how fresh Team Ninja can make their games despite being so derivative. It was the same way with Stranger in Paradise. Both these games draw heavily from the Souls formula, and even this has similar feeling combat to Stranger in Paradise, but they add enough of their own flavor to make the games interesting.

The biggest issues I have with the game stem from performance. Some areas run like garbage, even on the PS5 pro in performance mode, and some of the LOD textures and geometry look really poor. Still, this is a solid 8/10 game in my book.
