A must see.  10/10

Goodbye Uncle Tom (ItalianAddio Zio Tom) is a 1971 Italian/Spanish film directed byGualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi and features music by Riz Ortolani.

Addio Zio Tom is a pseudo-documentary in which the filmmakers go back in time and visit antebellum America, using period documents to examine, in graphic detail, the racist ideology and degrading conditions faced by Africans under slavery. Because of the use of published documents and materials from the public record, with actors playing the role of the historical figures, the film labels itself a documentary, and portrays slave life as a non-stop orgy of violence, rape and torture committed by Whites against their Black slaves.

The Directors' cut of Addio Zio Tom draws parallels between the horrors and slavery and the rise of the Black Power Movement, represented by Eldridge CleaverLeRoi Jones,Stokely Carmichael, and a few others. The film ends with an unidentified man's fantasy re-enactment of William Styron's The Confessions of Nat Turner. This man imagines Nat Turner's revolt in the present, including the brutal murder of the whites around him, who replace the figures Turner talks about in Styron's novel as the unidentified reader speculates about Turner's motivations and ultimate efficacy in changing the conditions he rebelled against. American distributors felt that such scenes were too incendiary, and forced Jacopetti and Prosperi to remove more than thirteen minutes of footage explicitly concerned with racial politics for American and other Anglophone audiences.

I Melt With You- 7/10

Dark, depressing, weak story, weak character development. Spiraling out of control mess, somehow kept me entertained.

Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders. 8.5/10

I've got my guitar tuned to open D to play Ry Cooder's spellbinding soundtrack. Amazing use of color and space, as well as a beautiful elegy to an America that is unfortunately being lost to homogeneity. The open space, the motels and diners, that is something we need to conserve, to give each place a unique appearance and a sense of history.

Why do you guys rate movies 7/10 and then say they're bad?

This movie rating is as bad as the Loudness War. It barely has 3 bits of dynamic range left.

Who exactly said their movie was bad?

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: 10/10
Perfectly measured dry spells with hot cut slices of action.

Yes, Jack Nicholson at his absolute best!

Dark Knight Rises 6.5-8.5/10

I actually liked the movies but this one was very drawn out (nothing important happens until about 1 hour in) and missed the action sequences and special effects of the dark knight. Overall, nothing in the movie surprised me too much (ok a few things) but it still remained interesting. The two ratings are whether you are a fan of the movie or not, but I think anyone would enjoy the movie.

Well, I gave The Dark Knight Rises an 8.5 but still said it wasn't that great because I felt that you need to watch this movie to finish off the series.

I think that a written description is more useful than number ratings- one person's 5 could be another person's 8. Also you can see why they like/disliked it because you might disagree.

...now if there was a standard system (i.e. >5= bad, 5< =good, 8<= a must see, >3= I'd rather gouge my eyes out than watch this again) the number ratings might be a bit more useful.

Sharkwater - 10/10

One of the better documentaries i've seen. Half this stuff in the movie I really had no clue about. What kind of sick person would cut off a shark's fins and throw them back in the ocean to die? To me this is like someone who kills a deer just for it's antlers and dumps the carcass on the side of the road to rot. I see this all the time here in Michigan.

BTW what's interesting is that Paul Watson of Sea Shepherd was arrested for things his did during this movie. He was recently released on bail and stuck in Germany for trial, but was forced to flee because Japan wanted to extradite him from Costa Rica. They'd probably give him the death penalty or something. Now he's on the run just because of trying to stop some illegal shark finners.

Did you know that only 12 people have died from Shark attacks in 2011? You have a greater chance of getting killed by a bear or alligator. Maybe getting hit by lightning.

I honestly don't know if I could watch this. The trailer was harder than I thought it would be on me.
