Killshot: Levitt played the role of a dumb loser a**hole wannabe thug quite well. But perhaps a tad over the top?

Haha, yeah I'm not a huge Adam Sandler guy either (which was why I held off on watching Punch Drunk Love for a few years), but the type of movies PT puts out I can forgive him. Although I have to say I got nothing wrong with old school Adam Sandler movies like Happy Gilmore.

+ 1 on the rollerball vs remake

"The Hard Word" - 7.5/10

2000 Australian crime caper flick with interesting story line and strong acting. The characters and their conduct are more of the core criminal element and less of the refined criminal artistes. Lots of aussie jargon, tats and some comic moments that aren't all that funny. In the end, an entertaining addition to the genre that works.

Yuck, I thought this was an absolutly terrible film. 2/10 max, but i'm glad that somebody likes it.

Inside Man: 7/10 (very fun, clever movie with a twist you see coming but still brings a smile to your face).

Flags of Our Fathers
5/10
I am definitely not a fan of exceptionally non-linear presentations. The flashbacks occurred way too often and made the movie seem like a bunch of 5 minute Youtube tribute videos supervised by one person. However, the characters were interesting, and seeing how I was unaware of the story behind the picture, it was sort of educational. Now I'm not really a fan of war movies in general, but this seriously could have used some more "positive" action, in that the "good guys" actually do some cool stuff. I guess it's all about the horrors of war nowadays. I guess if I knew that one of the main premises of the movie was that there are no heroes in war, I would been able to predict that.

Good acting from a first timer 12 year old. Movie deals with skin head nationalists and racism in England during the time of the Falklands War. Realistic and gritty movie.

its a good film, thomas turgoose the 12 yr old was in eden lake, which i watched recently, not as much of a main part but he is pretty good in it, you may like it.

The most bogus and juvenile movie I have seen in a long time. One dimensional characters, stilted inane dialogue, idiotic gratuitous violence; totally unbelievable. Just bad. And dumb.

you have it such a good rating

I would assert -50/10 to be more fair

especially when you consider how good the games are, and how much we really didn't need to know that Timothy Olyphiant A) can't act and B) wishes he were Jason Statham

recent movies:

Apollo 13 (extended edition, idk what was added, as I never saw it in theatres (and only recently saw it fully for the first time)) - 9/10: I very much like the 1970's feeling, and the very realistic look at NASA/the space program (vs more modern movies, such as Armageddon, which take excessive artistic licence), very involving movie, and I completely enjoyed all two and a half hours of it

a funny note that I found on Wikipedia about the film:
"Ron Howard stated that, after the first test preview of the film, one of the comment cards indicated "total disdain"; the audience member had written that it was a "typical Hollywood" ending and that the crew never would have survived."

and more recently I watched:

Jurassic Park - 9/10 as well: very good movie, excellent special effects (and this is 1993 with CG we're talking about), good acting, still enjoy Jeff Goldblum's character after seeing the movie some 10 times, and feel the only thing that disqualifies this movie from 10/10, is that they went ahead and made a third

It was only after I watched (with the sound down) the segments of Olga Kurylenko's bouncing boobies and her throwing a leg over Olyphiant that I revised my rating upward.

The only other redeeming feature was that I paid absolutely nothing for the pleasure.

Where, in God's name, did they come up with the idea of an assassin with a bar code on the back of his shaved head? About as useless as t*ts on a boar.

Bugsy: I love this movie. They present Benny in a way that makes me admire him. Not his actions and job mind you, but his personality, attitude, honesty, humor, and overall general character.

The move is over 2 hours long but is is very well paced and keeps you interested all the way through-- it was over before I knew it.

One of my favorite gangster films-- up there with Goodfellas, The Godfather, Casino, Reservoir Dogs, and the like.
