Samgotit, I recommended King of California many pages ago and couldn't agree more. Excellent lighthearted film with terrific performances from Douglas and Wood. IMO, best movie of 2007.

No sheesum? I keep up with this thread. I missed that.

I'm glad you agree. I was really pleased by it. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is a another good one from 2007.

I think we need a "2007 great film" thread.

I also saw the documentary Manda Bala recently. Good, but not great. It's about kidnappings in Sao Paolo. Absolutely worth the rent, though.

Manda Bala (Send a Bullet) (2007)

I've seen a load of recommendations for Diving Bell, have to check it out. 2007 has left me a bit devoid of great films. The two biggies, No Country and There Will Be Blood didn't fit my bill. King of California beats the pants off of them in my book!

Saw Wall E today and it was outstanding. Good story and the quality of the animation was incredible. Pixar outdid themselves which is hard to believe.
10/10 easily

First rate Fantasy/Fairytale. Good for the whole family. It's got it all ... unicorns, pirates, heros, heroines, villains, witches, unicorns, .... with excellent production and an all-star cast. I liked it.

De Niro's role in that was hilarious!

I concur, it was a very enjoyable watch.

wall-e gets an 8/10.

Hancock gets an 6/10.
Very entertaining, but nothing spectacular.
