I agree, as well. I can count on one hand the number of times that a performance truly affected me in terms of intimidation, and this was one of them. Two of the most memorable performances by villains over the past ten years have been Bardem and Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Basterds. Extremely impressive stuff from both, and they were intimidating in completely different ways.

just saw The Silver Linings Playbook in theatres yesterday. Was okay, 7/10. I think they overdramatized the personality of someone who is bipolar a little bit, then make it look easy to recover from it in just less than a month. I know because I've been hospitalized a couple of times, have schizoaffective bipolar myself.

Yes!  He was beyond excellent in that.  The only reason I've watched it a few times, despite really liking the whole movie.  He's pretty good in Django, too.
 
I watched No Country last night and agree, it was great.  9/10 easy.  Didn't even know it existed til you guys started talking about it.  And a few Grammy's too.  Cool.

Old Steve McQueen WWII movie about a group of six soldiers that are to defend an area of the Siegfried line.
Perfect cast and also stars James Coburn and Bob Newhart!
 
Last 15 minutes could have been better...

It's pretty to look at and has a few genuinely entertaining moments scattered throughout (and it manages to feel a lot shorter than it actually is), but poor scripting and borderline terrible acting and casting throughout (my god, was Mila Kunis *terrible* for this part) don't do it any favors.

I've got the same impressions except that James Franco was not bad. Mila Kunis was pretty awkward in this role. The script was really cheesy.

Watching "Skyfall" again. I wasn't going to, just wanted to see how the H.264 rip for my tablet turned out.....but I got sucked in. Love the dual monitor setup....watch one thing, do other stuff on the other monitor.

Mila Kunis was pretty awkward in this role.

Sue Bob White from The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2009) 6/10 would trample Kunis underfoot,one mean Southern gal...
Any of the White sisters could have played the Oz witch with more conviction.

Battleground (1949) - 10/10
 
One of the more realistic WWII movies and even better than something like "Saving Private Ryan".
This one was written and directed by a WWII veteran! It's about the Battle of Bastogne.
 
Was nominated for a few oscars too.
 
I believe this is free with Amazon Prime. Go watch it!

Seemed too long, and somewhat disjointed. I prefer Casino Royale to this and Connery to Craig overall. I did like the addition of Fiennes to the cast of characters.
 
Killer Elite, 6.5/10
Statham and DeNiro were okay but Owen seemed a bit out of place as their foil in this one. Good story but as above a bit disjointed and hard to follow.
 
Silver Linings Playbook, 9/10
Saw this one on a tiny airplane monitor. Wasn't expecting it to be this good. Great flick, instant classic.
 
edit, also saw Hitchcock on the plane, 8/10
Enjoyable movie but more of a window into the making of Psycho than a character study of the man himself.
 
Deadfall, 8/10
Watched this primarily because of Olivia Wilde, it was better than expected and well worth it for a crime/suspense flick.
 
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, 7/10
Getting tired of these formulaic character retreads; this was a fine thriller in the Bond/Hunt/Bourne sense but gimme a break and let these guys fight to the death already.
 
edit: Also just saw Safety Not Guaranteed, loved it 9/10
Another quirky sentimental one, if you like Silver Linings Playbook you'll probably like this too.

I'm surprised you felt that Skyfall and Killer Elite were on par with one another. Casino Royale is my favorite Bond film ever, so definitely agree with you that it was superior to Skyfall, although I liked Skyfall quite a lot. 
 
I just added Deadfall to my Netflix queue two days ago, so glad to know it's worth a viewing. 
 
I loved the first half of Silver Linings Playbook, but felt that the 2nd half turned way too cliche and predictable. I thought they were really onto something with the more intense focus on the psych issues and the interpersonal relationships, but then it sort of dropped the ball for me. Overall I did enjoy it, though.
