I watched Cowboys and Aliens last night on DVD and I found it entertaining and enjoyable. Olivia Wilde is easy on the eyes even in her long, prairie dress.
You guys who don't like going to the movies should put together a home theater if you haven't already. I enjoy my HT as much or more than I do going to the cineplex. I don't mind not seeing most titles right away...it's pretty rare that I can't find the patience to wait for streaming/bluray...there is so much out there to see, waiting is no biggie. You can even incorporate your existing headphone rig into your HT...watching movies on a 120" projector screen with headphones is a helluva fun way to watch a flick!
Well that is the point. If Cinema would have gotten me a better experience I would have less problem paying for it.
It also not help that I am one of the odd one that don´t feel bigger is automatically better. feel 51" is just about perfect from about 2,3 metre away. That is if it´s not letterboxed as it usually is for those I could do with a few inches more but not much

"Prometheus" [9.0/10]: I know this film got mixed reviews, so I was ready to be disappointed. I really liked it. I didn't realize how in the mood I was for a good "space" movie. I thought that the drama was maintained throughout. I thought that the connection to the "Alien" movies was cool.
Only $17 to see it in iMAX a couple of hours away from me, no matinee discounts. Worth it :veryevil:
I can get half-price (non-iMAX) tickets through Coscto/Groupon so actually $11.
For myself, the new Rises is the first Batman movie to dethrone the original Nicholson/Burton/Keaton/Elfman masterpiece. My perspective also includes the original Frank Miller comics/graphic novels which I felt this final Nolan effort was the most true to the spirit of.
for those in canada, if you can get them, i buy the cineplex tickets they sell at costco
its $30 for 2 people (2D) and comes with 1 popcorn, 2 drinks
i find it convenient since you just give them the ticket at the booth, no cards
I saw that film for the first time in 2007 and it became my new standard for the term "epic" as it pertains to movies. I loved every minute of that experience.

There is no cinema in my town but one an hour away. I never go now days, the sound was crappy and you had to put up with the distraction of dickwads on their cell phones. Got a 42 inch full 1080p Samsung plasma and could no be happier!
I've just finished reading about many of the plot holes people complained about...some of them make good points, others have answers, but for gosh sakes people, it's a MOVIE!
It´s not just a movie it´s a prequel to alien no matter what Ridley Scott says
Tyrannosaur 6/10
The people in this movie is just to weird to relate to. Acting is good I suppose even though as mentioned
impossible to get into the characters heads.
Nicholas Cage seems to be the running joke in Hollywood in terms of being in "every movie", but Bruce Willis has made more crap over the last few years than anyone outside of B movies. How the hell can this guy be considered A-list anymore?
