The Insider 8/10

Not a new film but worth watching, the story of tobacco company whisteblower Jeffrey Wigand.

The Insider is a 1999 film that tells the true story of a 60 Minutes television series exposé of the tobacco industry, as seen through the eyes of a real tobacco executive, Jeffrey Wigand. The 60 Minutes story originally aired in November 1995 in an altered form because CBS' then-owner, Laurence Tisch, objected. The story was later aired on February 4, 1996.

1984 - 9/10

A really great and underrated film. A must see film for any sci-fi fans. If you liked Brazil you'll at least find some level of enjoyment in this movie. I have to warn you though, that there are quite a few scenes of nudity, so it's not exactly family friendly.

Yes Man - 5.9/10

Didn't feel Jim Carrey played the part very well, just seemed very out of character of him. Although in a few scenes you can see the old slapstick comedy side of Jim Carrey. Also the girl was pretentious to me, and tried to be all quirky, was really annoying. Had a few laughs, I'd say the best character in the movie was Norm he was actually pretty funny.

Madagascar 2: 5/10 (for a film that starts out so promising it quickly derails and starts not knowing where to go and the quality of the film suffers from it).

Day the Earth Stood Still (2009 remake)
3/10 Not terrible, but bland. Story seemed incomplete (or hacked to pieces), the characterisation poor and while the SFX made everything explode nicely it just didn't add up to a well made film.
Going to dig out the original film on DVD and show my other half how it should be done.
