Okay, my "other" list as it currently stands (subject to change, of course). I own or have owned all of these phones.

1. Westone 3
2. IE8 (based on pre-300+ hour burn-in)
3. Phonak Audeo (amped)
4. PK1 (amped)
4. Sleek SA6
6. Monster Turbines
7. ERR4P/S (amped, with the S cable)
8. Image X10
9. Atrio M5
10. PK3
Honorable mention: ALtec-Lansing im716 (depodded at 47ohm), Klipsch Custom 3.

Also, I currently have the Yuin G1As for review, but haven't listened to them enough to rank them. Based on an early listen, they would crack this top 10 list.

Another view and ranking in my sig.

The phones getting the most head time with me are:

1. SE530 - All around satisfaction. It could have a better low-range driver, maybe a dynamic, but that's a minor quibble. It does nothing poorly, and nearly everything well. If someone was going to buy only one IEM, ever, I would recommend these.

2. IE8 - compensates for a lack of crispy accuracy with the best and the most bass--two different things, note--of any IEMs.

3. Amped RE0 - my most accurate pair. Nails those details that hi-fi freaks geek over: breath sounds, chatter in the audience, the glassware in a club.

4. Atrio M5 - 90% of the IE8s performance, at 50% (or less!) of the cost. A no-brainer for the basshead.

I upgraded from the atrios to the IE8. The ie8 has a better overall sq plus you still have more or less the same bass quantity and quality but I do have to say that the m5s are capable of hitting very low bass notes.

These rankings are based on what I have actually heard:

1) Ortofon E-Q7

2) Etymotic HF5

3) Shure E530

4) Ultimate Ears TF10 Pro

I'm waiting to hear best dynamic drive IEM now. I like bass and mids. Recommendations?

Here is my ranking of just my personal IEMs (currently own):

IE8 (by a hair)
W3
SE530
TF10Pro
ER-4P

I actually enjoy them all, but if I have to rank them, then I guess that's it.

1. IE8
2. SE530 (owned by my best friend ... i always make a point of "forgetting" to bring my IEMs when i visit him so i can listen to his se530 lol)
3. HF5 (haven't personally heard an ER4P, is it safe to assume they are close?)
4. FX500
5. Atrio M5/8
6. Triple Fi 10
7. Custom 3 (did not really like it, but i've heard it so i thought i would include it in the list)

(haven't heard any westones

Well why not? It is Christmas after all. However, I'm rating mine based on my level of enjoyment, rather than on which of them I think might be "technically" the most accomplished performer.

1. TF10
2. IE8
3. CX95
4. SE530
5. FX500
6. UM3X
