Anyone seen the mods on the SR1A over at SBAF?
Nope, what are the mods about?Anyone seen the mods on the SR1A over at SBAF?
https://www.superbestaudiofriends.org/index.php?threads/rhythmdevils-raal-sr-1a-modding-guide.12354/Nope, what are the mods about?
Short summary?
Interessant, but I do not recognise my SR-1b as such as described under the "the bad". Not even remotely. If it would have those problems I would never bought them.
Thanks for the update.I don't know. I haven't compared them to anything. Comparisons contaminates my thoughts during the development process. I listen to other headphones once a year, without glasses, just to get the general direction of who's going where.
I agree, i have no such problems with the SR1A, these are only his opinions of course.Interessant, but I do not recognise my SR-1b as such as described under the "the bad". Not even remotely. If it would have those problems I would never bought them.
But I only heard them with the VM1a.
I started out having the problems you mention of the SR1a sliding backwards when I was reclining. After manhandling the headband to create more clamp I am now able to recline fully and the SR1a maintains whatever position I want. It’s a bit of an art to adjust the clamp to the right balance between holding its position and becoming uncomfortable. But another reason I love the SR1a is that it is possible. Thanks for the update.
Imo ,why would anyone really need cut-outs for wearing glasses while listening to music?
When reading I use reading glasses.
But when listening to music I listen to the music.
The only exception to that for me personally would be if listening with a musical score in front of me.
One thing that bothered me with the first RAAL was that it was not easy to use lying down.
I mostly listen via my big electrostatic speakers during the day.
But at night ,before going to sleep I use headphones.
And both my HD800 my HEK V2 and my retired Jecklin Float electrostatic headphones presented no problems at all to use lying down.
The J Floats did not even touch my head at any point at all, when lying down!
And if I had ever had the wish to use glasses there was enough space to accommodate those too, within the "helmet".
But the orginal RAAL had a tendency to be very tricky to fit correctly and designed to be used only sitting up?
Has that been amended with the new fully open version or not?
And what about the new semi closed ,cupped version?
Are you still expecting "a slightly tilted head, leaning over a mixing desk" position with both?
That is not a very comfortable position in the long run.
Cheers CC
Any idea on ETA to Indie Hifi here in Australia? This month?
Not this month, we've just made 10 sets for the CanJam on 18th of June, and now we're working out the details with tooling, won't start the actual serial mfg in the next 20 days. And rough idea on weight?

Danny knows the prices and combos, so shoot him an email, please. I'm somewhat removed from the sales end of our business. Danny and I have divided the sources of our headaches@Aleksandar R.
is there going to be a combo set/price for the SR1b + vm1a, like how there is something for the sr1a+hsa1b?
