@Joe Bloggs, the R7 should be 90% of the performance of an R8, but in the same form factor as the R5. I’ll be the first to buy one!

Is there really going to be an “R7?” And in the form factor of an R5? Hard to believe they can improve much on the R5 while retaining its form.

I was just dreaming asking for my fantasy dap. I prefer smaller daps like my A&K AK240SS and R5, not really into the large display models out there. The form factor of the R5 is ideal to me, but being an avid audiophile, I want more horse power under the hood, hence, my suggestion.

As to whether there’s enough room, internal componentry is getting smaller and smaller.

Did you try re-booting your R5 beforehand? I had to do this to install the new firmware.

Is 1.83G the latest? If so the device must have already downloaded it.

1.86G is the latest.

No, just shutting your R5 down and then powering it back up.

Currently downloading 1.86. I think this is a fairly new update.

Didn't work. I tried to find the zip file to delete it and try downloading it again but couldn't find the file. Anyone know where it hides?

It depends on your settings, it can be stored on the internal memory or your SD card.

MQA bug fixes in this release apparently, but it looks to have broken it. Mines only displaying 96k when the mqa album decodes to 192/24 and using UAPP it says it's decoding to 384/24 yet Hiby shoes 96/24. @Joe Bloggs can you report this as its not right.
