A very sad day with huge losses to the art world, firstly, rest in peace Eartha Kitt, the original sex kitten. There is only one catwoman

Also it is very sad to see Harold Pinter has passed away, a great playwright, who's work's were hugely successful on the stage and on the big screen.

I heard the news on NPR this afternoon - what a huge loss. About a year ago, I came across several of Eartha's LPs at a used record store. I've given them a lot of spins and she's one of my favorite female vocalists. It's terrible she's gone, but I'm glad to have discovered her. If anyone is curious about her work, I'd highly recommend picking up one of her discs. They're wonderful.

Also tragic news about Pinter. I'm not that familiar with his work, but I plan to read him in the near future. He sounds like a great man.

Eartha Kitt was one of those underrated, underappreciated entertainers. It's amazing how most people know her best as Catwoman, especially since she only did three episodes of Batman.
