If the front port also has a usb interface, disconnect the usb header.
I had the same issue.  I'll probably just buy a front plate for usb.

I mean I actually use the USB ports, but I guess I'll just buy a new front plate. It's weird because it just recently happened.

Won't hurt to try disconnecting it.  If static is still there then its not the usb.  
I think the issue is that the audio ports share the same ground as the usb.

Front panels are not shielded/grounded properly and it's not recommended to use them. 
There's not much to do. 
 
Use the back panel.
