I usually listen to hiphop/rap,and I only use my ipod classic(no amp ),so is SRH840's bass enough to listen to rap?
BTW,I'm using px200 now,and I think its bass is not enough.

The Shures have a good amount of bass, but I don't know what you would consider enough (I've never heard a PX 200). They certainly have less bass than Denons, for example - if you're really concerned with having HUGE bass, a Denon would be a better choice. But FWIW I think the Shure bass is very nicely balanced with the rest of the sound spectrum, extremely deep, and pretty punchy.

It's my opinion that unamped off an ipod classic, the bass will be too slow for rap, especially if you like to listen to it loud.

I think the FiiO E5 is a fine choice, the Shures are not particularly demanding - plus the E5 has a bass boost that you could turn on if it strikes your fancy.

I would definitely look at other options as well, though - Denons as mentioned above have massive bass. Ultrasones are also supposed to have very powerful bass, and from what I understand they are easy to drive straight out of an iPod and may be another good option for you.

I will second the suggestion of Ultrasones for you. The good news is you don't have to go for the HFI-780. I actually prefer either the 580 or the 680. The 580s are closer to the price of the SRH-840s. I just think the 840s are a bit too demanding straight from a DAP.

Straight out of a DAP, I don't think you'll be happy with anything unamped except a DT770, but the SHR840 is a much better balanced headphone for the rest of the music spectrum, and the bass is nice. Just not insane like the DT770.
