Hello Everyone,

I am new to this place and a complete noob on quality headsets. Recently I lost my Sony earbuds and now I decided to just get one final quality pair that I will thoroughly use and enjoy. I have wasted countless hours on the internet searching for headphones but to no avail. Each time someone seems to suggest a more powerful headset for similar price.

What I am looking for:

- Great Sound Quality - Bass. Will listen to a lot of electronic music, hip hop, and classical
- Decent noise isolation (for studying)
- Portability (I plan to workout in them, lifting weights, but if they can withstand running, that would be great)

Recently I went to best buy and listened to numerous headphones and I found that the Dre Studios delivered the best sound quality from the ones I tried.  I found a link on ebay that is selling them for $200.00 100% authentic (as the seller claims). If anyone can verify this link that'd be awesome

I am open for recommendations from everyone as majority of you are experts on the subject :)

Thanks.

Studios for 200$?
Anyways, gen 1 studios were rather crass for the price. They build quality were worse than 50$ Sony headphones. Sound quality was sub-par. The bass was pretty bad compared to the much cheaper m50s. It was muddy and had little detail. Overall, all the mentioned headphones top the studios in my book. If you want plain looks, then just get the beats. But 200$ for a plastic necklace, not worth it.

I tried numerous headphones at a store called Bestbuy and I can tell you that these beats studios were the best sounding in comparison to all of them. And they looked pretty nice no hate. I just need an accurate picture of evrything before I make a purchase. Tomorrow i will be going to a place called radioshack to try some more headphones.

Not sure how it is in the US, but Canada doesn't have many headphones on display and use. Either way, the DT 770s definitely rule over the studios. I returned the studios only a few days after my purchase. They didn't come close to the m50s that I had.

I hear the M50's bass is lacking and of course there is the aesthetic factor. But you gave me a good idea, I can perhaps purchase teh studios, try em out for a few days and if i like them, i iwll keep them otherwise I will return.

Anymore suggestions?

I can't see Any of those headphones mentioned topping Dre Beats Studio ($200)

What do you mean by topping? Sonic wise or price to performance?
I personally own the ue6000,  which I hands down prefer over the studios (for the same price)

NCIX sells the Custom Pro's for $180, free shipping within Canada

and i m hoping it is legit

also what do you recommend for in-ear?

I realize that having a full headset on while working out might look silly

If you want the basic package that offers the best price but doesn' t compromise sound quality, I would recommend you to the AKG K518LE. But, if you' re finding something more expensive.. here are the headphones I recommend:

ATH M50
Sennheiser Momentum
Bose QC15

Note: I started with a Beats Solo HD that only lasted for a year.

The Bose QC15 are more for it!/ feature and the sound quality is real bad in my opinion definately not worth the price unless it's for the feature

Honestly, it sounds like you need a workhorse of a headphone. If you're going to lug and run with this thing, I'd suggest buying a decent isolation earbud and some USB DAC. I'm actually using older variant of the item below while on my laptop.

http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAUD-Adapter-C-Media-Chipset/dp/B001MSS6CS/ref=pd_cp_e_0

It's cheap and it works. In fact the majority of my listening time has gone through that, an iso. earbud (no idea what make it is lol) and my trusty KSC75 (whose not home currently).

If you still desire this next purchase as your "one final quality pair" do yourself a favor: dive all the way in and plan yourself a home listening station. FME portable setups get far too much beating to warrant majority spending (not saying this applies to everyone). Also I just don't think you can enjoy the music with the latter setup anywhere near the former even if you spend a lot of time in the air and/or have your own chauffeur.

Good luck OP.
