+1 to the last two posts.
When I was over at a high end dealer a few months ago to try/buy the 009s, I took my BHSE with me. The shop owner was very keen to hear the BHSE because there are so few high end energisers around (that can be sold by hifi dealer), so all he currently sells is Stax models, and his customers keep asking how those compare with BHSE etc..
Anyway, he and wife loved the the BHSE, but they didn't feel the 007t kimik in any way disgraced itself - they were relieved that it performed perfectly well considering the price difference. And I agree with them. Yes the 007t and 006t have limitations, but unless you listen at ear-damaging levels (some seem to), the sound is just fine for the price. Everything is a balance of several compromises.
It's ok to have higher aspirations, and it's ok to know there are better things around, and it's ok to build/find you own KGSS variant, and it's ok to look for certain mythical second hand models.
But in the meantime, there really is no need to feel short changed by the 007t.
I enjoyed it for years with my 007 mk1s, despite some saying what a bad combination that was - well, it wasn't perfect, but it was perfect enough at the time.
One of the downsides of forum gossip is that someone somewhere is always knocking down something or other. Which leads the owners of that something to start getting itchy wallet syndrome, when actually they are quite happy with what they have.
