Yeah, but with a home theater, you have multiple speakers around you... Your brain re-constructs a 3-D image based on all the “clues” from these speakers, it involves the ear canal, but also the pinna, torso (for bass), and the head micro-movements (to "auto-focus" on some sound image details).

All of this can be processed and simulated in SW, and although it is not easy task, that’s exactly what T71 aims to achieve... The 8x independent channels are important in a scenario where you would use T71 to drive a 7.1 system made, for example, of active speakers directly connected to T71.

But T71 IEM….......?????? The individual drivers are not around your head, and AFAIK they only “interact” with your ear canal. Sure, active filters do bring many benefits , but I doubt any of these benefits is going to be surround-related…

Sure, I think I understand what you're thinking.
The goal is certainly more difficult to achieve.

Qudelix is tackling very ambitious targets with the T71... Don't get me wrong, I love what they do, and I hope they deliver another killer Software/Hardware combo with the T71 IEM: I am checking the Qudelix store every day, waiting to buy the T71 IEM !!!:ksc75smile::ksc75smile:

Any idea how we can connect T71 to android /iOS Qudelix app?

So far I’ve only been able to use it via PC chrome extension making it absolutely useless to use with my phone unless I reset the PEQ settings and turn off T71 inbuilt mic on PC and then connect it to the phone.

It isn't compatible with Android yet. It should be out soon. To be honest I think that It should have been out a while ago, cause a lot of people want the device to use it with their phones.

Let's hope that they make it compatible ASAP.

Early review of the T71 IEM (in Korean):

Note the 3x outlet tubes…

It looks like the Chrome ext. app is not fully ready yet:

I mean… I hope we’ll see much more advanced settings in the future: Xover cut points, individual driver gains etc.

They'll have their work cut out for them with the firmware to get any semblance of surround.

Thank you for the update. I do not see an updated mention of the price. I hope something sane for my sanity.

Has anyone used the T71 for virtual surround on headphones with games? I'm thinking of pairing it with a Steam Deck and my Aeon 2 Noire headphones for a portable gaming solution. Already have the 5K and love it but interested in the virtual surround possibility with the T71.

Yes, and it works great. I touch on it in my review of the T71, but it's the only DAC I use for gaming now (replaced my Sound BlasterX G6). Dolby Atmos sound is also improved to my ears for those games that support it.
