QLS QA361 impression thread

Hey guys, I'm wondering how you bought the player: through QLS's website: http://www.qlshifi.com/en/wzcapi/qa361.htm or through eBay? Their website looks a bit sketchy, but payment was made through Paypal, so I guess it's secure enough?
Does anyone ever have an issue that needs technical support? How responsive are they?
Got mine through Shenzhenaudio - excellent service. Never had cause to seek technical support; the unit seems pretty bullet-proof!

Thanks guys! I think I’ll get one soon, given the fact that devices with AK chips might get rarer/more expensive to buy :D

Just wanted to say a replacement for 361 is due this year, mid to end of the year. I think it has streaming feature, don't quote me.
I was about to buy one :frowning2: is there any further details/rumors regarding this?

Well, I don’t need streaming or bluetooth or anything fancy, but if it’s a substantial increase in audio performance, it might be worth the wait

I decided to not wait and bought the QA361! While waiting for it, can someone recommend a good power brick for charging that can also work as power supply? I will use it mainly as desktop player, so a low noise power supply for desktop mode would be great! Thanks in advance!

Look into Quloos own battery pack, Quloos PS1.

They can configure the USB out to match whatever you need, just ask them to set it for QA361.

QA361 is still my current reference, I only use WAV only OS.

This beauty arrived yesterday :D

Out of the box, it already sounds quite good. Currently in burning-in mode. May I ask for some tips on how I should do it properly? Should I go all out in BAL (high gain, double high amp) or single-ended with low gain and normal amp is good enough?
Also, the player gets a little warm when playing music, even in single-end with lowest settings. Is it normal?

If it's been running continuously since you received it, it's bound to get warm. Mine gets a few degrees above ambient, although I don't use it in the case, but it's still noticeably cooler than say, the Questyle QP2R, in operation, so as long as it doesn't burn you, I wouldn't worry about it.
