Copy the firmware on your sdcard,before you turn on your unit press and hold the left arrow button then switch it on.it will direct you to fw upgrade option.

AFAIK, they never tell when a new firmware gonna be available.
Maybe unless you're inside their closed beta tester.

Meanwhile, after few weeks, I would like to share my (real life) experience with QA360 (using wav-only firmware).
pro:
- I like the UI, it's so simple that let me focus on the music more.
- all that opinions about "realism" and "wav only" firmware are true. I'm not sure how much further this "realism" can go, but its remarkable here.
- battery life is good.
- It sounds so good, that I forgot about my DX90 and external amps.
- internal amp drives my HE-500 well (I usually set vol to 100-110 / 150)
cons:
- its a bit harder to use it mobile / in the pocket (then DX90).
- USB dac would make this big step closer to being "perfect".

Which one has a thicker sound and more detail sound?

I've seen reference here to firmware 1.4.02 but I'll be darned if I can find it on the QLS download page.  Could someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Last night my bro was using the DAP till the battery was depleted. 
And to my surprise, my brother said he didn't hear any pop or any sound, the song was just cut off.
Really impressed with this DAP's design.

Yea sadly Hugo to my ears can sound quiet boring. It need an amp that can enhance the dynamics of HUGO.
