Ciao, not in a store, friend house who bought it. I liked it very much, both fit and sound, and i am tempted by the V14. (also by the mest2, but i dont know if they are comparable till someone test both of them )

Disclaimer, I'm not expert to explain the sound but I will try my best here.

I use all-switch off, the default sound tuning in here. The soundstage is on intimate side but enough for me. Vocal sound a bit closer compare to VE8.
The sound feel warm but refined because treble has some bite and energetic. I'll post more impression once I'm familiar enough with it. :relaxed:
After trying switch combination, I settle on switch 1 & 2 ON because the standard tuning can be sound too hot after long listening.
With switch 1 & 2 ON, the bass has more quantity to mask hot treble, so it's more comfortable for long listening.
Vocal sound more focused and dry on V14. Compare to VE8, vocal spread wide and has thick body in there.
Listening to V14, feel like change of pace for me and I'm still learning about QDC and will add more if I found something to compare..

Thanks fro your impressions, it's not easy to find someone who has them yet. Did the musical scene expand outside your ears? and in depth?

I would say no. like I said previously the soundstage is on intimate side but enough. Compare to some other, V14 feel focused and narrower.
I would suggest to have audition first, to make sure you like it.

Today I tried C9 and V14 pairing, the soundstage become wider and tone become more pleasant, so far no hot treble. I highly recommended C9 with V14. :relaxed:

Edit (1/5): the treble seems become smoother after 1 week usage (all switch off) and more comfortable for long listening now.
Edit (1/5): Now prefer turn on switch 1 (bass) & 3 (high) for fun sounding. Standard tuning also fun btw. Also, I found when turning on switch 4 (ultra-high), may experience kind of piercing (you can't hear it but you can feel it after some listening).
Edit (3/5): Now prefer standard tuning (all switch off). The current sound (seems not changed anymore) have smooth treble, a bit more open with Spiral Dot eartip, warm but neutral tone (not thick, not thin), and fun sounding. V14 is efficient to drive from DAP but can scale more with good amp

Ciao @mmoderni where did you listen Qdc in Italy?
Just ordered VX, I guess we have some shared reference like RSV and MEST MKII, so I’d like to add cross-reference impressions as usual✌️ Hopefully it goes off my 100 scale😂

So, i did push the button and ordered the V14. Hoping to have done the right choice since seems quite different to anole vx reference/neutral sound.

Not loving very much external amp since usually I am listening outside home (and v14+C9 it is about the Oriolus Traillii price, that seems to sound great also with a simple USB dongle..)

VX-S arrived today. At the beginning I wasn’t so impressed, the sound was a bit off tone and foggy. Then I noticed it was my sealing problem & high impedance mode on the DAP.

nce I rolled some ear tips, Xelastec, SpinFit, Final, stocks, and couple of others, within SpinFit, I found CP500 that I use for Softears RSV perfectly matches with my HRTF with Anole VX.

Then like Softears RSV, VX simply explode with high gain, this IEM would only perform it’s true potential with low gain.

The result is beyond my expectations😳

-Non-exhausting yet sovereign technicalities , a philosophy of subtractions, I found Asian beauty within

-crazy high coherence, be it sound coordination, focusing, vector and momentum, dynamic range presentation. Layering and texturing, hard to imagine this is 10 driver package!

-out of head presentation, as far as I know only IEM could do this besides VX is Mest MKII and Softears RSV, VX handles it better

I can’t imagine how qdc managed to balance this pleasant tuning vs technicalities. Usually tonality and technicalities trades off, not the case for Anole VX. My guess is reduced 6k concha gain and some dip on third harmonics of pinna gain around 12-13khz that makes the tonality very pleasant.

VX immediately hit to top of my list.
