Hi Everyone,
I just bought the Q40 headphones.
As the title states I am being electrically shocked out of the right side speaker quite frequently. I have another set of headphones for testing so I will describe my findings.
I am getting shocked when then headphones are plugged into my Pioneer VSX-43tx 1/4" headphone jack. The frequency of this is about every 20 seconds I get 3-4 little shocks in the right ear only. It does not matter if I am sitting still, rubbing my feet on the carpet, swinging my arms, etc (generating friction). Also worth noting is when there is no content playing I can audibly hear out of the right side electricity buzzing around constantly.
I do not get shocked when using the 1/4" output on my external soundcard sitting at the computer.
I also do not get shocked when using the 3.5mm connecting directly to my IPOD.
For interests sake I took another set of full headphones (Proluxe PRO-50) and plugged them into the 1/4" jack on the Pioneer receiver. Thru these headphones I do not get a shock at all or hear any static.
Furthermore, the Q40 headphones were physically broken out of the box... The plastic 2-piece plate that is held together by a little screw was floating around in the box. It appears the threads were stripped out of the plastic housing.
Any thoughts on the electrical shocking?
