Just placed an order for the HD-650. I am going by the principle to listen first before believing posts that claim them to be inferior to the HD-600's. My cable mod on the HD-600's I have are interchangable (and by now somewhat burned in) so I'll be able to use some of my previous investment in addition to the improved stock cable.

I can't wait for my new addition to arrive and have some fun with it! An audition weekend coming up soon - yea!

Be patient -- it will take at least 150 hours of heavy use to develop its definitive characteristic.

Preffered the 600s (broken in) to 650s (out of the box-heartbreak!!!!) Presently, putting 650s on break in all night every night for a 12 hour a day, 30 day period before I listen again. Fingers crossed.

But don't forget headband break-in! The looser fit reduces the bass emphasis.
