I have read over and over on this forum that the best after market cable to pair with these specific IEM's is the Baldur MKII's. Unfortunately these are not sold in a store, rather on ebay. So I have two questions...

1. Is it the cable made by sunricky on ebay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baldur-MKII-upgrade-cable-for-Shure-SE535-SE425-SE315-SE215-UE900-UE-900-/261111319128?pt=UK_Home_Garden_CD_DVDStorage_SM&hash=item3ccb728a58

2. If the above is the correct, would the Baldur MKIII be a good alternative. I only ask because it is black instead of blue...   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baldur-MKIII-upgrade-cable-for-Shure-SE535-SE425-SE315-SE215-UE900-UE-900-/251164287985?pt=UK_Home_Garden_CD_DVDStorage_SM&hash=item3a7a8ee3f1

Thanks in advance for any responses given.

Yes that is the cable seller for Baldur MKII. I have one of his cables.

I don't know about the differences in MKIII though. Sunricky is quite helpful shoot him a msg and ask about the differences.

The biggest problem I have is the fact that I am not sure I believe a cable is going to make that much of a difference in the sound quality. However, if I am going to let myself believe it I am now looking at the options.

The other option I am considering is the DHC Symbiote SE in the smoke color. Possibly in a combination of natural and smoke twist. Sound quality or not, aesthetically, these are probably the best looking cables I have ever seen. At $270 I would need to wait until Christmas, else my woman may kill me. She is already miffed at the IEM purchase. Not that we cannot afford them; more that she would like to have gotten them as a present for me.

Does anyone at least have an opinion on the 4 wire round vs. 4 wire square braid? Does one of them make the cable stiffer vs. flexible. These  IEM's were purchased exclusively for travel so portability / flexibility is a must.

The more I look at these DHC Symbiote SE Cables, the more I think I want them from a pure aesthetic standpoint. But $270 for aesthetics?!?! That's 50% of the cost of the IEM itself. Grrrrr. Why is marketing so good??? Furthermore, why does it work so well on me; I'm a damn product manager for Pete's sake...

But if the round braid is more flexible than I can get the non SE version for $40 cheaper... Still running into the fact that $230 for aesthetics is a bit much.

Does anyone have a picture of the DHC Symbiote connected to the SE535 Reds?

I would like to see what that smoke color looks like before I purchase; but what I am really interested in is these connected to the reds. I just got the green light to order cables as my fiance thinks the grey ones look like "80's mouse / keyboard cable". But for that money, I want to make damn sure they look the way I want them to look.

Thanks in advance,

I have the transparent baldur MKII cables from sunricky for my se535 ltd. I can't really notice a difference in SQ, but my ears are not really trained to notice it I suppose. But I completely agree with you on the aesthetics stand point. For a $140 cable, purely for aesthetics it was worth it for me.
