no. the usb port in most mp3 players is not a host port.

i have a fat psp, and i really don't like it's SQ very much. It's also definitely not a very loud player as well.

Its too big, it needs two hands to operate, lightmp3 2.0 is buggy and crashes often. The original, unhacked music player will run at 222MHz which will definately not be enough battery life. Speakers are low and crackles easily. The PSP is a poor choice for portable audio. I purchased an iPod mini and replaced it utterly. I'm currently waiting for a D2 since it broke.

tl;dr
If you like games and the occasional song go for it, if you want an MP3 player look elsewhere.
