Grado PS-1 pro , where have you been!

There the new grado that is better ( well from what we know) then the rs-1. It looks simlar to the hp-1000 series too. Only prob is it looks like john doesn't have any plans to bring it to the USA and right now it's euro only.

I think certain Members should be gracious and apologize for their treatment of Sugano-san, here is the "proof" you demanded. Anyway, thanks for the pics.

this is all supposition... but let me see if I have my facts straight:

the alessandro grado's all are revamped grado labs headphones as follows:

MS-1 : SR 125 redux
MS-2 : SR 225 redux
MS-PRO : SR 325 redux

this new PS-1 looks a lot like the alessandro grado's, but apparently has performance that is as good if not better than the RS-1...

so perhaps it goes something like:

PS-1 : RS-1 redux

or maybe its just early and I need coffee

more like this:

Sr-125 : Sr-100 : ms-1
Sr-325 : Sr- 300 : ms- 2
Rs-1: ms-pro
Ps-1 : hp-1000

Don't like statements like that. Just because someone says so doesn't mean that it's true for someone else.
It's all about personal taste. I don't like when people "rank" products like that.......

Well more like this:

RS-1:MS-Pro:HP-1000

Who knows where PS-1 falls at this point; however, many folks believe RS-1's are as good if not better than HP-1's. Why do you think there are so many HP-1000's on the used market? Folks sold them off for the RS-1's.

At the level of RS-1's...its flava flava. I do believe HP-1000's to be the best headphone for what headphones can do (without trying to sound like speakers), but the RS-1's best them in a few categories and match them in others. I'm eager to listen to some PS-1's and find out what they are all about.

I wasn't saying the hp-1000 is better then the rs-1 and ms-pro , I was just kind of putting the headpones with simlar casing together. ms-pro / rs-1 = wood , hp-1000/ ps-1 = steel
Casing seems to make a very big impact in the grado's, and simlar or the same casing seems to make them sound close. The rs-2 and rs-1 are the ex same thing but the rs-1 has a bigger casing , and it makes a very noticable differance in the soundstage.
I kind of messed up with the sr-300's placment though, since the case is actual the sr-60 threw sr-225 size not the sr-325 / ms-2 /rs-2 size.

The thing about the hp-1000 and ps-1 is that the ps-1 has a bigger casing then the hp-1000 ( also the ps-1 metal looks thicker but I'm not sure). So it could just sound like a Rs-1 with sr-325 detail, which would be pretty cool

If PS-1 is a limited & unofficial edition intended for Grado's distributor only, I see no problem for Head-Fi community to demand its limited edition of Grado, say HFS-1. HFS-1 might be an original in its own.

For example keep the drivers same as RS-1s and use them with different wood. Like wood instruments, different wood = different sound. Head-Fi members in China can get famous Himalayan wood (ranked as one of the best wood for violins), send it to Grado Labs and John can manufacture it....

I wonder if the PS-1 uses the same metal as the 325's or the more durable HP-1000 metal. It would be interesting to note the differences there as well.
