Assuming this sub isn't dead what would be the best tube under 70$ for black and death metal. I have a brimar 6060 which sounds amazing with metal but causes too much tube noise with the ember

Metalhead here. I'd choose either a 12au7/ecc82/5814A, or it's older equivalent, the octal based 6sn7 (with adapter). They all have less gain than the 6060 and will be quieter.Assuming this sub isn't dead what would be the best tube under 70$ for black and death metal. Now, I have a number of these tubes and my favorite tube for metal is the Tung Sol 5814A/12AU7A. The NOS ones, not new ones. Look for the black glass.
If you can't find one for a price you want to pay, there's lots of other options.

You'll want detail and not care as much about bass, so I would always suggest a bugle boy 12AX7 if you can get a real one NOS for a good price. I got one recently for under 100 bucks so I know it's possible.Assuming this sub isn't dead what would be the best tube under 70$ for black and death metal. But he's going to get even more tube noise than with a 6060/12AT7.You'll want detail and not care as much about bass, so I would always suggest a bugle boy 12AX7 if you can get a real one NOS for a good price. I got one recently for under 100 bucks so I know it's possible.
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I've seen you on reddit If I'm not mistaken. What's the difference between the metal and glass tube?Mmmmm, black metal! Try either of these. Ken Rad is amazing.

I never had any issues with it. I went through probably 20 tubes on my ember and it was clearly the best. They're also highly regarded so yeah. I actually bought a second one I liked it so much. But he's going to get even more tube noise than with a 6060/12AT7.

I really like the 6BS8. It's a standard 9 pin. They are dead quiet, and under $10 on ebay. I have a couple and can't notice much difference between brands.

Not sure I listen to enough metal bands to qualify as a metalhead, but been really really going deep into Meshuggah. They also came around few months back Nov 23 with In Flames and Whitechapel, which was an awesome show. Just got a used Ember and I'll have to check these tubes out.
