Delving way back into my collection tonight with Selling England By The Pound (1973) by Genesis. I didn't much like them at the time but in the years since I've grown a real appreciation for their early stuff, specially this one and Foxtrot.

For the past few hours I've been listening to the new Big Big Train album on Amazon Music (my CD arrives later). Obviously, with a new vocalist the sound is quite different and I'm really enjoying it, the new guy (ex. PFM) has a hell of a voice - gets two thumbs up from me!

[edit] I've listened to it a couple more times and can safely say it's my favourite BBT album and the track Miramare is a masterpiece.

Got to it now, really good!

I heard the Harbinger single, but I totally missed that the full album had dropped. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I know what I'm listening to next! 🤘😎

Beyond the Bridge's first and last album is still awesome. Sadly, Simon Oberender, the main writer, passed away shortly after it came out.

This album got me into the prog scene many many years ago. Such a good album.

Some Finnish symphonic prog-folk. The 18 and a half minute epic is pretty great. I don't understand a word but I love it.

Prog-folk you say? I'm not sure I even know what prog-folk is and I've been listening to prog for a few decades now. I simply MUST hear this as my imagination trying to meld the two parent genres has me intrigued.

Thanks for the rec!

There were quite a few really good releases in 2023 that fall into the Prog folk category. If you’re into it let me know and I’ll send a couple of suggestions.

If you're into symphonic Prog-Rock, like Anglagard and King Crimson, this album is is an absolute classic!
