Hi, I searched about this and didn't find anything.

I have a FiiO E7 for 9 months and its OLED display started to become darker and darker.
At the moment, its so dark that I cant see what its displaying.
I can't even take a picture to show you because all you guys would see just reflex.

Is it an issue or it's just a configuration that I can adjust?

I got a pic now:

This is mine                              And one I found on google

OLED screens apparently have issues with longetivity and if you leave them on for months on end they have a tendency to fail...I'd contact Fiio about a replacement?  And if you do get it replaced, I'd recommend turning on the function that locks the display if you don't touch it for a little while, that could increase its lifespan.

Thanks, DaBomb.

I was imagining something like this :frowning2:
But it's weird, I didn't use it THAT much. E7 counter is displaying 15d of use. Doing the math it's 1h30m a day.

I tried to contact FiiO but I didn't find any support form or email, so I sent to their sales department anyway.
If someone have their support email please let me know.

I bought it on Amazon (sold by office direct sales inc ). How can I contact them? Do I have to contact Amazon or this specific seller, since it was just sol by them but processed through Amazon.

FiiO support answered my e-mail, they told me to ask the seller for a replacement.
Who should I contact, Amazon or the specific seller from Amazon?

Amazon refunded me for the price I paid in Jan/2012, when it was $90.
Now E7 is $65 and the new E7K Andes is $90, and I heard good things about it too.

I was planning to get E7K, since I had display problems with E7 and I have the refunded money.
So what do you guys think? Get E7 or E7K. I have $90 credit to spend.

Thanks.

I would say E07K.

You seem to like and use the E7 for its functions for which the E07K does the same for. The E07K features hold switches and screen time out so that the chance of screen problems and burn ins have been further reduced. You are not really paying any money.

I recommend you purchase this from Micca Distributors on Amazon. They are an authorized dealer. So is MP4Nation but they are based in HK. Maybe they setup a new U.S office.

The screen time out and lock will stop it from burning out the screen again. Not sure on which DAC chip it is, so I'm going to let Panda-sama take that one. The E07K also adds treble and bass adjustments, which will let you perfect the sound signature to your liking.
