What is that price for you? Your highest budget EVER for a single pair of headphones? Or what price do you think you will stop at?

For me..it's about 500...any price beyond that I either can't hear the difference or my music collection's flaw will probably start being noticeable.

Buying headphone is sorta like building gaming computers..diminishing return...except the price don't drop. Just wondering what you guys think...Give some input

$1100 (plus other fees like audiologist for impressions, art, shipping) for my JH13s so far.

Isolation, small size, lightweight, great sound, great fit, comfortable for long periods. Worth it. If someone were to release an even better IEM for a higher price I might be interested.

Although I must admit I've been tempted to buy ATH-L3000 because they are "pretty."

I am willing to shell out $2-3.000 for the "right" pair.
The last 3 1/2 years I have bought 4 pair of headphones priced above $1000, and I still have 3 of them left.

So far i've never gone beyond the 400€ bar for a single piece of gear...and i doubt i will in the future, the only exception i'd like to make is to buy a nice turntable.

The most I've spent on headphones was $150 for my HD555's. I own a pair of Shure E4c but they came free with my iPod which I also bought for $150 (those headphones were worth more than twice that when new).

I've contemplated spending about $300-$400 on a pair of headphones, but didn't do it. I'm happy where I am now, at least for now.

Each time you pass a threshold, you become comfortable and start looking beyond. When I started out on this journey I thought buying the MDR7506's for $100 was a big buy. Then I took the plunge and got the HD595. A big purchase at the time. Now, I've purchased the Ultrasone Edition 8's. One year ago, I'd have thought never.

But you know, once it's technically within your budget, never say never!

BTW, I haven't regretted any of the purchases.

300-600
I've paid $360 for my D5000's and I think this will be my final pair of headphones anyways.

I agree with you totally !! haha. Once you reach the "highest" threshold, it becomes the next steeping board to a higher threshold.

It certainly goes over 1200, so I guess that means infinity.

The most I've spent on headphones so far is $318 for my HD650's. I'd have to say $500 would be my limit. I'd spend a lot more on an amp though

I voted 0-150. Can't see myself spending more than that on headphones right now, but I only registered with this forum one day ago.

And even though I can't see myself spending more on one set of headphones, I'm eyeing at least three different pairs of IEMs in that range at the moment, and knowing myself, I might end up buying all three of them.
