I'm looking to upgrade my vinyl rig and merge it with my headphone setup and am looking for reccomendations for a decent preamp with a phono stage for around $300.

At the moment I have a headphone setup with CD/DAC and a seperate turntable setup with an old Sansui turntable and a Proton receiver. Since my headphone amp only has 1 input I need a full preamp with phono and not just a dedicated phono stage, but other than that don't have any set requirements.

So any reccomendations?

I don't have specific experience with this, but from my reading (I was in a similar situation a while back before deciding to go a different path), used Rotel and NAD preamps on audiogon seem to be a good deal.

jpelg: Can't detect any shamelessness in that offer - quite on the contrary. But don't you fear you'll regret selling it?

servoled: There are lots of good old full-blown pre-amps out there one can nowadays get for attractive prices used. I'd really recommend to consider jepelg's offer, though - 'cause it seems very fair...
