power conditioners to use, and to avoid

Avoid UPS's, since most are only back up power and offer nothing other then surge suppression, no filtering, when power is normal.

I agree with Budgie. *In general*, computer UPS systems and cheapie Home Depot power strips are not good for audio purposes, they will do more harm than good.

Here's an interesting review of a product I just ran across for the first time on sale over at Audiogon:

Seems like a rather nice conditioner, but it won't regenerate or make up for low/over voltage conditions.

I have had great luck with the Audio Prism Power Foundation III.
It's got 3 different filtration circuits in the box and separate plugs for digital, analog and others.

P.S - Wait for them to have a 15% off sale, which they do once a month, and it has a 30 money back guarantee,

I have some great experience with the Transcendent Balanced power unit.

The difference is there, it made both the vedio and audio better, cleaner.
The only problem is the limit is 8A. If you don't have enough load, say only 2A or 3A total, the voltage will be a bit higher than usual. You can use one of those VIRIAC to solve this problem.
Hope this helped.
