I'm having this weird problem with some noise when i touch the volume pot:

They don't happen when no source is connected though (however, at max volume without anything connected, there's some ticking noise whenever i touch the pot)

Case 1:

Source is a PSP using headout with volume set at 70%, clicks whenever i hit the volume pot.

Case 2:

Source is a notebook, no click noise when i hit the volume pot.

My question is, is the problem source related? It's just weird though, normally if there's something wrong with the source, the noise is consistent, however this time it only occurs when i touch the potentiometer.

Pot = RK097

Now there's an even weirder problem

I plugged it in a 24VDC Supply and the there's even much more noise when i touch the pot.

The amp is a portable amp powered by 2x 9V batteries, and there's a trickle charger with LM 317 configured as a Current source.

the back and front panels are both plastic, so i doubt it's insulation.

The power supply is just a simple DC wallwart. I opened it up and it's an ON Semiconductor LM7824 fed by 2200uF Of capacitance.

weird, this is the first time i've had these kind of problems.
