Had numerous tape cassette players.

Then...

2005 iRiver H10 5GB(UMS), then went on to get the iRiver H320 and iRiver H140. Upgraded the H140 to 80GB with new 2200 battery. Also bought an airhead, my first amp. Wasnt that impressed so bought an SR71 and MicroDAC. Much better. Was a bit much to carry so bought the Tomahawk.

Started to want something more portable so bought the iRiver T60, Clix and the Cowon D2.

Currently using the Cowon D2 with 16GB HCSD card unamped as my main player.

Before 2005: various PCDPs
2005: Rio Carbon 5GB then Creative Zen Xtra
2006: Sansa e270 6GB then Sansa e280 8GB
2007: iPod Video 30GB 5.5g then late 2007 iPod Classic 80GB
Current: Sony S616F 4GB (best sounding player of them all)

The Sony I will be keeping until Sony comes out with a 16GB or larger version. The SQ on this player has made me a Sony customer for the forseeable future.

I used cassette tape walkman's from the mid-80s till around 1994, when I was given a Sony MD player for X'mas. I subsequently bought a smaller Panasonic MD player in the late 90s, and plunged into the world of DAPs after I discovered head-fi in 2004!

2004 Jul = iRiver H320 20G

2005 Mar = iRiver IFP-795 512M

2005 X'mas = Creative ZVM 30G

2007 Feb = Samsung YP-T9

2007 X'mas = iPod Classic 160G

All of my MP3 players are still functioning well, but the battery life of the H320 has gone down to about 3-5 hours of play.

Click link for one smaller-than-cassette cassette player (at least in one plane). Also a quick Googling shows me that Head-Fi member Pappucho has one.

i would love to use the included headphone band with a pair of ksc75's.

1993-1996 various cassette type portables

1996-2001 various cd Walkmans ending with one of Sony's optical out players to feed my:

1999-2005 md players from Sony, sharp, panasonic, kenwood and victor.
This was the peak of my iPod hate but I decided to try

2004 - iPod 4g 2 months - was impressed but did not admit it

2006-2007 still stuck on the anti iPod campaign, bought Sony, cowon and meizu players which were "so much better"

i hate when like you, you get something you don't really want and then end up regretting it. too bad about the zen plus v. the clix 2 is a nice player.

for me however, i got the meizu whilst waiting for the d2 - i prefer the meizu though it hisses like all of snakes in a basket.
