the first two I actually tried to get a good shot with a canon g6. the third is a spur of the moment shot with a compact point and shoot.

I really, really like the angle on your second motorcycle shot, pne. How'd you get that angle?

I posted this pic over in the Amps forum but wanted to re-post it here because I'm glad at how well the lighting turned out. Initially I turned on a bunch of lights but everything kept coming out overexposed and looked really bad, and the "blackness" of the amps just wasn't being conveyed, so I turned off most of the lights, set the ISO to 200, and hoped for the best (the preview on the LCD looked really dark). This is also the first pic I'm posting that I post-processed via "Sharpen" in Photoshop. This shot also shows the color coordination of my system - black components, white interconnects.

I went a bit nuts with photoshop yesterday, playing with techniques and cleaning up some previous pictures. 10 years of photoshop and still learning...

Here are two interesting shots...I took it with a 12-24mm lens, which is extremely wide. I was out shooting landscapes in my father's back yard and saw a little dragonfly land a couple feet in front of me. Using my seasoned macro stalking skills, I creeped up on the little fella, but the only lens I had was my ultra wide. So I set it to 24mm, and snapped a pic. Then I set it to 12mm, and snapped another one. From the photos, it may not seem that close, but the front of the lens was about two or three inches away from the dragonfly when I shot them.

Mrvile, that is pretty interesting. I like the 12mm shot as it gives an unusual sense of height! I feel like I could fall into that photo. Email Canon and ask for a 12mm macro.

devwild, nice selective color on the house. Very dreamy/surreal.

Contrastique, looking forward to your next post!

Thanks! With the canon G6 I have a swivel lcd that lets me set the camera low and view my image from above. It's actually really useful for when I need to get down low for a shot and don't want to kiss the ground..
