Nice fire going on there. Any particular reason why you were so close?

I was a deputy at the time so I was on scene in an official capacity so I was able to get close but I am also a volunteer firefighter and that was my engine company so I got to get a little closer than most. I shot that with a 50mm lens too so I was pretty close. The fire wasn't really that bad at the point I took the shot. The chief portrait is from the same fire.

I may as well post an image I took considering all you have allowed me to enjoy viewing some of yours...So I will post one of my first pictures at that, before I knew even a fraction of what I do now in terms of both shooting and printing and photography in general! Now-a-days I primarily shoot film and have been completely involved in B&W. Hope you find some enjoyment in the photo!
