The original is here though I just updated the photoshop processing with “On1” so it’s been worked over. I took that in 2013 maybe? I only have really 2 lens that I would have used...........old Nikon 2.0 50mm or. f4 300mm? I use an D5000 Nikon DSLR. It looks to be the 300mm? That lens is ridiculously old........as they made them from 1977 till the early 1980s?

Thanks for the complement. Though I think that picture is the way it is due to lighting?

It’s also putting a non DX lens on a DX body so the focal length comes to 450mm.

Ah, nice.
I use Raw Therapy with GIMP, like a rookie.

The lighting of that picture is great, imo.
I'm going to try a full size lens on my APS-C too.
It's all about trail and error.

I don't even like PS anymore, I use this......simpler but faster for what I do.

So you just editing the raw with it to a given point and nothing more?
To how much degree do you alter the original raw picture with?

Just curious about your "workflow".

I go from card to opening to editing to saving in about 4 minutes; if I find a good photo as the first to open. But all I’m doing is photographing stuff in such a way that it’s always the same. I may have one or two photos that take 6 minutes. And if there is small touch-ups that is always longer; erasing dust particles or something?

So the camera settings are always close to the same and the post processing is always the same. At times when the editing is 1 minute it kind of surprises me? But of course the worst is over manipulation, that’s always a risk if processing a photo longer. A goal could be to not process from the start?

For what I’m doing the pre-photo set up is what saves time. The above photo has no retouching. The above photo has a small crop and two changes done. The roughly 5 button process was then saving it to the desktop. The whole thing was about 2 minutes.

But remember in a controlled environment there are no variations and no variables to worry about. The time consuming thing is choosing the best photograph to edit.

Yeah.
I know it well.
It's all about the setup before and during the shot that saves the most of time.

Will keep an eye on the prog bc opening the raw data with raw therapy and the export to gimp takes much of my time.
