Where did you get those samurize scripts? And were they easy to configure? I always been meaning to tinker with samurize but I never seem to have the time. I would really like to move away from DesktopX.

Yeah when I first got samurize, I didn't really like it because I thought it was a lot harder to use than Sysmetrix. But now I realize that it's a lot better than what I used to use. You can get the scripts I have here:

^Super easy to configure the ones that I have. For the one with only the weather, all you have to do is add your area code where the readme file tells you to. Some of the pre-exported configs are kinda confusing to do though. The other one that shows my system settings as well as the weather is pretty easy to configure aswell. All you have to do is go to Edit ConfigFile.

Samurize is arguably the best and most customizable piece of monitoring software ever so you'd be missing out if you don't use it

Thanks for your help. I couldn't find the weather script you used, but I got another one of the weather scripts to work. Is the calender a script for samurize?

Nevermind, I found the calenders under the misc. section.

Nope. Calendar is Rainlendar, not samurize. The skin is moderna, which is real popular.

I finally found sometime to try out Samurize and download some scripts. Thanks for your help, ch1nkster.

It is not as pretty as my first desktop config but it loads up a lot faster and eats up less system resources, which was what I was hoping for.

Wow MadDog5145, your desktop is AWESOME! I'm not quite into MacIntosh-wannabe Windows themes, but the weather and news is beautiful.

Here's my new Litestep theme I'm using. I'm not showing the whole desktop because the wallpaper is pretty simple. In fact, the whole theme is very simple, but works really well and looks and runs better than the standard Windows shell.

Here's mine. It is shrunk by about 70% to fit, because it is a dual monitor setup and therefore would be two times wider than your average 17" monitor at 1280*1024.

I use SCWebCam to auto update the image and then upload to my server.

I can't upload my desktop so I found the exact picture instead. Of course mine is without the little white errors. My only icon is an unremovable 'recycle bin'. I like a clean picture.

Try right clicking your desktop, then go to "arrange icons" by then uncheck "show desktop items." This will hide the bin and all other icons.
