I don't have pictures and it would be a pain to pull her out, but this is bete_noir, my principal machine:

Aluminum SilverStone Temjin Nimitz TJ-03 Server Case (black)
Tyan K8WE Thunder motherboard
Dual Opteron 246 processors
4GB Registered ECC PC3200 RAM, Crucial
ATI FireGL v5000 video card
M-Audio Delta 66 sound card
Plextor 716A SATA dual layer DVD burner (black bezel)
Plextor 712A SATA single layer DVD burner (black bezel)
PC Power & Cooling 510 PSU
Adaptec 2410 SATA RAID Card
4 Western Digital 74GB Raptors (SATA, 10k RPM) in RAID 5
3com buffered PCI-X gigE NIC
SilenX case fans
Removable 120GB IDE drive (black bezel)
Sony 3.5" floppy drive (black bezel). You still need them now and again.

bete_noir currently runs Ubuntu Breezy Badger, but am going to take another crack at Fedora Core when FC5 comes out on Monday.

I'm clocked conservatively at 542/1602 right now. I think you'll like going from 7800GT to this new XFX card. Things seemed a bit smoother to me.

Now I see where your money goes instead of upgrading your audio system

I ended up getting this also. I'm retweaking my system.s

Why are you on head-fi?

I could overclock higher, but I'd only get like a 2% difference? I can't actually see that difference
biggrin.gif
I still need to test everything else for stability.

I'm on Head-Fi and I spent money on my computer before my headphones. Some things are more important, and I had such an old computer I really needed to upgrade. And now everything is nice, up do date, and good sounding.

And, when in doubt, overclock more.

Oh all these pics are getting me excited. I am saving up money all for the rest of the school year and the summer to build my dream rig. I will be using it a lot of for CAD modeling and such. I do game some, but I am not a overclocking 8000 FPS nut. But still I am shure I'll be running some dual 7900's
biggrin.gif
. I think the big thing is I might try and get 4 gigs of ram for all the huge models. Idk its all a dream now, but hoepfully eventually a reality.

EDIT: Actually what I am really looking forward to is dual 19" moniters. Maybe 20's if I can find a good deal

You better clock the living crap outta that DFI. Mm, what bios are you using / going to use? (I'm still using 6/18, think I'll upgrade later, but I might as well wate, going to change my 3200+ venice for a dual core in like 6 months maybe, and probably get 2-4 gigabytes of ram depending on how stuff works out in the future.

Here's mine, say what you want about the case but my dad has nearly the same components with the exception of a Radeon X800 XL and less HDs in his Lian Li V and his always overheats. This computer has been running for the past three days and it's as cool as in ice cube inside
biggrin.gif
. The HDs are multiple sized because they're relatively new so I had them moved over from my old comp to my new one. I also installed another gb of ram after some suggestions that it wasn't enough, so I'll update the picture whenever I'm not lazy, hopefully I'll get a new graphics card by the end of the summer too, but for now this is my new baby. Here're the specs:

-Themaltake Kandolf
-Windows XP Pro
-Asus P5WD2 Premium
-3.8ghz Pentium 4 HT
-37gb Western Digital 10,000 rpm Raptor Sata(OS Drive)
-200gb Seagate 7200 rpm Barracuda (Music)
-175gb Western Digital 7200 rpm (Video)
-120gb Seagate 7200 rpm (Photos)
-40gb Seagate 7200 rpm Barracuda (Main Backup)
-Coolmax 550W Silent Fan Power Supply
-3gb PC4200 Ram (3, 1gb Dinns)
-Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro
-NVIDIA Geforce 6600
