Hello Folks!

So, as I type this I am listening to my HD800 with some Lenny Breau queue'd up (they get along well). The Soloist SL and Concero are doing the yeomen's work in the background. Highly satisfying.

So, let's say I'm looking for more punch, more aggressiveness from rock, or whatever else in amplified music. Let's also say I want to spend less than $1000. Thoughts?

Notes: I am not a basshead by any stretch of the imagination. Bleeding bass is unacceptable to me. Having said that, I am looking to get something significantly different than HD800. If the pros are 'it resolves beautifully and it's imaging is fantastic'... well, I already got those :) On my radar currently are LCD-2, Grado RS1/2, PS500, Hifiman HE400 or HE500.

....aaaaaand go!

Thanks.

HiFiMan HE-500, HE-400i, or the HE-560 should be a nice change for you.  Reviews/impressions of the HE-560 have put it on the top of my list of must-have headphones, though I haven't tried one myself.

I find the HE500 an excellent compliment to the HD800 , it lacks in sound-stage and treble resolution compared to the Senn but the midrange timbre is magical
Also have the Alessandro MS2i (tweaked Grado 325I) has a very aggressive sound which is a good contrast to the Senn .
