Mr Bungle - The Girls Of ****
Mindless Self Indulgence - Faggot/I Hate Jimmy Page
Jack Johnson uses pretty pronounced basslines
Incubus - Deep Inside/Glass
Electric Six - Danger! High Voltage!
White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
sorry for the greater than 5 amount.

And If any of you care, I play bass, so if i had a specialty this would be it. If you wanna hear a few songs with skillful basslines, you could start off with these 3:
Primus - Tommy The Cat
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Aeroplane
Mr Bungle - Dead Good (the riff about 2 minutes into the song is amazing)

**i like a lot of weird music, listener beware.

you sir, have very good taste in music!

Bass Heavy? I have never heard a more bass-heavy song than Todd Rundgren - Jerk

Todd Rundgen has gone both ways of the spectrum, low and high. Certainly, this song is not his absolute GREATEST, but it's a great song IMO and it was a great test for my new Velodyne subwoofer

Nevermore - Poison Godmachine has an awesome bass intro

Actually, Nevermore is my weapon of choice for burning new phones in. Always works.. bass goes fast, deep and hard (At least on the DHIADW and DNB albums)

By the way, is there actually any bass in "Seven nation army" or did you just list songs you like?

There are some really bad words that make it through, funnily enough. For example, starts with C, rhymes with Bunt

EDIT: And search for it, it's made it into a LOT of threads

I heard The 5th Dimension Aquarius/Let the Sunshine on the radio on the way to work today. For the first time, I noticed that the second half has a MONSTER bass part, and it's buried in a Spector-esqe highly compressed mush with the uninspiring vocal out front. Someone should totally remix this if there's a multi-track master available.

I love the bass on RLJ's Pop Pop. Good demo CD.

Some recordings by Jarrett's "Standards" trio.

12" single of Emotional Rescue

The Jam - "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight"
The Beatles - Taxman

I love the bass on Linkin Park's "Lying From You". Don't get me wrong, I find this genre of rock to be total crap, but the bass in this song is great.

The double-bass work in "Good Times Bad Times" I also like a lot, but that's probably not the bass you're talking about.

xantus check your PM's man!
