BIG BOTTOMS. Man, when Spinal tap brings out the doubleneck bass guitars, you know you're in trouble. "The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'!"

Actually, Nevermore is my weapon of choice for burning new phones in. Always works.. bass goes fast, deep and hard (At least on the DHIADW and DNB albums)

By the way, is there actually any bass in "Seven nation army" or did you just list songs you like?

Jack White I believe is playing guitar with a massive distortion on it. It is definitely a bass line, though.

Tons of great bass from Tool, A Perfect Circle and Rage Against the Machine. I don't think I can narrow it down to 5 songs.

Now for a bit of bass punishment from the DT770s.

That's a bass line on Seven Nation Army. The other day I saw a guy playing it on bass, sounded exactly like the song.

My favorite songs, bass-wise. More than 5, but I couldn't cut any out.
White Zombie - Black Sunshine (I really wanna learn how to play it)
Soundgarden - Slaves & Bulldozers
Anthrax - Got the Time
Rage Against the Machine - Take the Power Back
Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears
Motorhead - Ace of Spades, Stone Dead Forever (Why hasn't anyone else mentioned Lemmy? What is wrong with you people?!)
Primus - Tommy the Cat, Jerry Was a Race Car Driver
Metallica - Orion, Damage Inc., The Thing That Should Not Be
Megadeth - Peace Sells
The MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
S.O.D. - Milk
Guns N' Roses - It's So Easy

It can be considered a bassline, but in fact it's a guitar with a pitchshifter on it (one octave down).

I can't settle for just five songs

Every one of these performers have many songs with good bass lines, but I'll name one or two songs for each, in no particular order:

Primus - Southbound Pachyderm
Tool - Schism
Rob Zombie - Iron Head (feat. Ozzy Osbourne)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Coffee Shop
System Of A Down - Science
Skindred - Set It Off
Skunk Anansie - Selling Jesus, I Can Dream
Stone Sour - Choose
Mudvayne - Dig
