I usually use either my super.fi3's or my E2C's when using my iPod portably. When at home though, I use my SR80's.

I decided which to use for reasons that are only weakly related to your design categories, namely sound quality, sensitivity and ambient sound attentuation appropriate for the situation (on the street, in the gym, in a pasture). If they gave me what I desired with my portable player, I would choose nosebuds.

earbuds, now that there is one that really sounds good (PK1). Although I do use my d-jays IEMs equally. Pretty much 50/50 split... depending on whether I need isolation or not. I keep both sets in my backpack and bounce back-forth depending on the ambient conditions I happen to be in.

Noisy office, commuter trains, busy streets = D-jays

I still use my KSC75 too though.
