Dear Head-fi crew,

This is my first post. I just bought a Sony CD3000, my first real acquisition in terms for a 'great' headphone. I travel pretty much all the time, so I really need a portable DAC/AMP solely for the Sony CD3000's.

I did some research, he is what I am looking at:

1. The Pico DAC USB
2. Practical XM6
3. The RSA Predator
4. Fiio E10

What do you recommend? -- Do any of you use any of the above DAC/AMP with a CD3000? I heard great things about the Fiio E10, but will it have enough power / quality to really work with the Sony CD3000?

I really don't want to spend more than $500 on the DAC/AMP, preferably much less. Open to any other suggestions.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Out of all of them I would go with the PICO DAC/Amplifier but if you can swing a little more cash and find a good used example I'd go with the Fostex HP-P1.
Either of these is excellent with the CD3Ks but the Fostex take them to another level.
