Hello,

I'm planning on getting my iPod Classic 5.5g modded with RWA, because I've never soldered in my life and don't want to mess that up doing a DIYmod (although I wish I could)!

I'm interested in knowing which amp I should get that would pair well with both of my stock Shure SE535s and stock Denon D2000s. I have no experience using headphone amps in any kind of set up whatsoever.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Ideally looking for something portable and under $600.

After getting a good headphone amp, should I start considering getting new cables? Or should this set-up be fine?

Thanks!

IMO either of them don't need an amp.
The AD2000 have a pretty flat impedance frequency curve. Also, the SE535, while being more variable, still don't exceed 50 Ohms at any point.
These loads should be a piece of cake for your iPod.
Enjoy your iPod first!!

Thanks for the quick reply, but since this is an iMod/DIYmod, and it bypasses the amp, I would need to buy an external amp would I not?

I was just curious which amp would pair well with both of these headphones! :)
