using that combo now and its plenty loud. Just curious if e11 will improve much sq wise with flat eq?

Well, the E11 does provide more power, so it should help, but I've never had the E6, so I couldn't really say. From what I read before I started getting into this, the E6 came across as a volume booster and that's it, so I skipped it. I'd imagine the E11 would open things up quite a bit in comparison, allowing for better treble extension and more emphasized low end. That was my impression with the E11 when I first got mine to pair with the HD598, but I sold both off long ago, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. Memory isn't the best thing to go off of. I do remember that there was enough of a difference between the E11 and the headphone out on my ipod/phone/mac that I wondered what an upgraded amp would do for me since the E11 was performing so well.

Well broke down and ordered the e11 with the extra battery and charger.   Hopefully it's worth it.
